Bio

Stephen Delgado, a native of Puerto Rico, brings a wealth of experience and a deep passion for sports to his role as Sports Information Director at Miami Dade College. With a strong background in athletics, particularly volleyball, Stephen has been involved in collegiate sports from a young age.

Before joining Miami Dade, Stephen was on staff at Monroe University, where he worked with both the women’s and men’s volleyball programs from 2021 to 2023. During his time at Monroe, the teams achieved an impressive combined record of 104–30, boasting a 77.61% winning percentage. His experience there played a key role in shaping his career in athletic communications, providing valuable insight into team dynamics, media relations, and program promotion.

Since arriving at Miami Dade, Stephen has helped elevate the visibility of the Sharks’ athletic programs. Under his coverage, the Sharks have produced numerous All-Conference selections, highlighted by Luyeisy Marquez Moreno earning NJCAA National Player of the Year honors. He also played a key role in covering the Sharks’ championship volleyball run and was part of the first season in program history where every team competed in postseason play, marking a major milestone for the department.

Stephen remains committed to highlighting student-athlete achievements and continuing to strengthen Miami Dade’s presence in collegiate athletics through strategic storytelling and media engagement.

Delgado resides in Miami with his girlfriend Gabriela and their two dogs Shai and Skye.
