Sierra Set to Join FIU
Right-handed pitcher Enrique Sierra is headed to Florida International University after two seasons on the mound for Miami Dade College, where he developed into a reliable arm in both starting and relief roles.
As a freshman in 2023-24, Sierra made 16 appearances, earning 2 wins and a save over 46.2 innings. He struck out 44 batters, posting an 8.49 K/9, and allowed just 2 home runs all season.
In 2024-25, Sierra took on a larger role, starting 11 games and tossing 61.1 innings. He went 3-2 with 61 strikeouts (8.95 K/9) and 4 home runs allowed, while recording two complete games.
Over his two-year Sharks career, Sierra logged 108 innings across 32 appearances, striking out 105 batters with an 8.75 K/9 rate. His durability, strike-throwing ability, and experience against top NJCAA competition now head to FIU, where he'll join the Panthers' pitching staff in Conference USA.
