MDC Men’s Basketball International Newcomers

The Miami Dade College Men's Basketball teams' 2015-16 season will kick off this Friday, October 30th, 2015. The Sharks will host Rise Academy (PA), tipoff is at 3pm. After leading his players to the 2015 FCSAA State Tournament semifinals, and coming off back-to-back state tournament appearances Head Coach Stephen Cowherd and his coaching staff are looking to start this season on a high note. In addition, to three returning players Coach Cowherd, and his Assistant Coaches Kevin Ledoux and Ward Griffith reloaded the Sharks' roster with nine new additions. Of those nine, six of them are from international countries in total MDC Men's Basketball has nine international players.

• Represented South Australia at Australian Nationals 3x

2. Matas Budrys- St. John's College HS/ Kretinga, Lithuania

• 2012-13 Lithuanian Youth Basketball League Champion
• Played for Lithuanian U16 National Team
• 2015 DC State Champion

3. Marko Krivicevic- Nikola Tesla HS/ Budapest, Hungary

• Member of Hungarian U18 & U20 National Team

4. Jaquan Bagwell - Comenius HS/ Charlotte, NC

• Highschool MVP (23ppg, 10rpg, 5apg)
• All-Tournament Team
• Christmas Classic MVP
• Member of the Top 60 Players in Charlotte Invitational Basketball League (CIBL)

5. Darius Williams- T.W. Josey HS/ Augusta, GA

• 2,000 Points Award
• Player of the Year 2013-14
• Leading Scorer in Georgia 14-15 (41.5 ppg)

6. Paulius Zabilevicius- Gillette College/ Panevezys, Lithuania

• Student A Honors Award
• Qualifier for Lithuanian U16 National Team

7. Antanas Krimelis- The Phelps School/ Kaunas, Lithuania

• 2015 PAISAA State Champion
• U15 European Youth Olympic Festival Gold Medal Winner and Top Scorer for Lithuanian National Team
• Member of Lithuanian U16 National Team in European Championship (2nd best scorer).
• 2015 Big Apple Basketball Invitational Tournament MVP
