Marvin Jean-Pierre Signs with the University of Louisiana Monroe
Jean-Pierre helped lead Miami-Dade to 37 wins over two seasons. He was named to the All-Conference First-Team and 2015 FCSAA All-Tournament Team.
MONROE, La. – The ULM men's basketball program inked its fifth incoming recruit for the 2016-17 season on Wednesday with the signing of Marvin Jean-Pierre, the staff announced.
Jean-Pierre, a 6-3 wing player from Pompano Beach, Fla., joins the ULM roster after spending the last two seasons at Miami Dade Junior College (Fla.). Jean-Pierre will have two seasons of eligibility remaining at ULM.
Last season, Jean-Pierre averaged 16.5 points, 6.9 rebounds and 3.0 steals per game with the Sharks. He shot 45 percent from the field, 33 percent from beyond-the-arc and 65 percent from the free throw line.
Jean-Pierre helped lead Miami-Dade to 37 wins over two seasons. He was named to the All-Conference First-Team and 2015 FCSAA All-Tournament Team.
"Marvin is a talented guard that should blend in well with our returnees and early signees," said ULM head coach Keith Richard. "We think his signing caps off another good year of recruiting for our program."
Jean-Pierre joins Sam Alabakis, Kiir Deng, Jordon Harris and Sam McDaniel in ULM's 2016-17 incoming class. Jean-Pierre is the second player on ULM's roster to come from Miami-Dade College as Prince Cooper played for the Sharks in 2013-14.
