Sharks fall to FSCJ
The Miami Dade Sharks fell to Florida State College at Jacksonville with a final score of 86-48. Despite a strong effort, Miami Dade struggled to match FSCJ's offensive efficiency and three-point shooting.
For Miami Dade, Jamaal Morris led the way with 23 points, shooting 10-18 from the field. However, the team as a whole had difficulty finding the basket, shooting just 41.3% (19-46) overall and a mere 15.4% (2-13) from beyond the arc. Faheim Saintleger Meran contributed 10 points, but turnovers were a major issue, as Miami Dade committed 14 turnovers. Defensively, they struggled on the boards, collecting only 22 rebounds compared to FSCJ's 37.
FSCJ showcased balanced scoring and strong perimeter shooting, with Aiden Fletcher leading all scorers with 22 points, including a perfect 4-4 from three. Eddie Mitchell added 20 points, hitting 6-10 from deep, while Jordan Smith pulled down 9 rebounds and scored 10 points. FSCJ's efficient ball movement was a highlight, as they tallied 18 assists, setting up good looks that led to a shooting percentage of 54.5% (30-55) from the field and an impressive 53.6% (15-28) from three-point range.
The Sharks will look to regroup and tighten up defensively to bounce back in their next matchup against North Florida Prep.
