Brayboy’s Last-Second Putback Lifts Miami Dade Over Polk State, 77-76
In a thrilling finish, Miami Dade edged out Polk State College, 77-76, thanks to a clutch offensive rebound and putback by Kenneth Brayboy in the final seconds. The Sharks survived a furious second-half rally by Polk, holding on to secure the road victory.
Miami Dade built a commanding 40-28 lead at halftime behind strong shooting and defesnse. However, Polk stormed back in the second half, outscoring the Sharks 48-37, setting the stage for a dramatic finish.
With time winding down and Miami Dade trailing by one, a missed shot gave Brayboy the opportunity to make a game-winning play. The sophomore forward, who had four rebounds and four blocks in the game, crashed the glass and converted the putback to seal the win.
Jamaal Morris led the Sharks with a double-double, tallying 17 points and 10 rebounds while adding three steals and six assists. Hassan Belkhaddar contributed 16 points, knocking down three triples, while Faheim Saintleger Meran added 13 points and four assists.
Ernesto Rodriguez provided a spark off the bench, draining three three-pointers on his way to 11 points. Miami Dade shot an efficient 48.3% from the field and hit 11 three-pointers, helping them overcome Polk's second-half surge.
With the win, Miami Dade continues to build momentum heading into the next stretch of the season. The Sharks will look to carry this energy into their upcoming matchup as they take on Indian River State College at home.
