The Miami Dade Sharks dominated Georgia Military College in a decisive 6-2 victory. Cheick Dounkasse was the star of the match, scoring a hat trick and leading the offensive charge for Miami Dade today.
Dounkasse opened the scoring early at the 8-minute mark, assisted by Facundo Ochoa, and netted his second just 15 minutes later, with help from Diego Luengo, to put Miami Dade up 2-0. Georgia Military responded quickly, cutting the lead in half when Sonny West scored in the 25th minute. Ten minutes later, West returned the favor, setting up Riley White to tie the game 2-2 before halftime.
In the second half, Miami took control. Jesus Colazo found the back of the net in the 49th minute, assisted by Ochoa, to regain the lead. Edoardo Duchini and Kyle Reid added goals in the 65th and 82nd minutes, with Reid later assisting Duchini. Dounkasse completed his hat trick in the 87th minute, once again assisted by Ochoa, sealing the 6-2 victory.
Georgia Military's goalkeeper Benji Maldonado faced relentless pressure, making 6 saves on 12 shots, but the defense couldn't keep up with Miami Dade's dynamic attack. Angel Fernandez, Miami Dade's goalie, conceded two goals on five shots but held firm as his team took over in the second half.
With this victory, Miami Dade moves to 4-0-2 and look to leave Georgia undefeated as they take on Oxford College of Emory University at 11 AM on Sunday morning.
