The Miami Dade Sharks walked away with a 2–2 draw against Illinois Central on Saturday after a back-and-forth battle that saw both sides trade momentum.
The Sharks struck first in the 17th minute when Jeremy Levivier buried a chance from Daniele Malanga to put MDC on top early. Miami Dade dictated the first half, limiting the Cougars to zero shots and building a 1–0 lead heading into the break.
Illinois Central responded after halftime behind forward Nathan Le Roux, who scored twice in quick succession, first in the 63rd minute off Pierrot Mourton's assist, then again in the 70th minute from Alessandro Campos swinging the match in the Cougars' favor.
MDC refused to fold. Just five minutes later, Edoardo Duchini delivered the equalizer off a feed from Matthew Oliva, knotting the game at 2–2. The Sharks continued to push for a winner, finishing with a 14–8 edge in shots and forcing ICC goalkeeper Milo Paci into seven saves, but the match ended even.
