The Miami Dade Sharks came up short on the road Sunday, falling 2–1 to Angelina College despite generating nearly all of the offensive pressure. With the loss, the Sharks slide to 1-4-2 on the year.
Angelina College struck quickly in the first half, taking advantage of their only two chances of the match. Kaisei Nagayoshi put the Roadrunners ahead in the 22nd minute off a feed from Shuto Ishikawa, before Kanta Maruyama doubled the lead just three minutes later, also set up by Ishikawa.
The Sharks controlled the stat sheet, outshooting Angelina and forcing goalkeeper Hugo Herrera into nine saves. Miami Dade battled until the closing minutes, finally breaking through in the 85th minute when Josemy Vigil converted a setup from Facundo Ochoa to cut the deficit in half. Despite a late surge and four corner kicks, the Sharks couldn't find the equalizer.
Edoardo Duchini and Nico Preciado each put shots on frame, while Cheick Dounkasse and Vigil threatened consistently in the attack. Nicolo Sgura finished with two saves in goal for Miami Dade, while Herrera's nine stops proved decisive for Angelina.
Miami Dade will look to regroup and bounce back in their next outing as they continue the grind of non-conference play.
