New Kit, Same City for Luengo
After two successful seasons as a Shark, Diego Luengo is staying in South Florida, continuing his collegiate soccer career at St. Thomas University. A composed and technically gifted midfielder, Luengo was a key piece of the Sharks' success, dictating the tempo of matches while providing leadership and stability in the center of the pitch.
Over 34 career appearances, Luengo totaled four goals, five assists, and 13 points, making an impact well beyond the scoresheet. His vision, passing ability, and soccer IQ allowed Miami Dade to control possession and build attacks through the midfield, while his relentless work rate made him equally valuable on the defensive side of the ball.
Luengo enjoyed a strong freshman campaign, recording three goals and four assists while earning a regular spot in the Sharks' lineup. He followed it up with another steady season, continuing to serve as the engine of Miami Dade's midfield with his consistency, composure under pressure, and ability to connect every line of the field.
Now, Luengo will take his talents to St. Thomas University, where his technical quality, experience, and leadership will strengthen the Bobcats' midfield. As he begins the next chapter of his career, the Sharks are confident his all-around game and winning mentality will allow him to make an immediate impact at the four-year level.
