Handa Stays Put in the 305
After two outstanding seasons in the circle for Miami Dade College, Amanda Handa is taking the next step in her softball career, transferring to St. Thomas University. Handa leaves the Sharks as one of the program's most dependable pitchers, showcasing consistency, composure, and dominance throughout her time at MDC.
During her career, Handa compiled an impressive 27-13 record across 236.1 innings pitched, posting a remarkable 1.75 ERA and 1.13 WHIP while striking out 201 batters. She appeared in 42 games, making 34 starts, and completed 17 complete games, proving to be a reliable presence every time she stepped into the circle.
Handa elevated her game during the 2025-26 season, leading the Sharks with 22 victories and 161 strikeouts over 192.0 innings pitched. She finished the year with a 1.79 ERA, allowing opponents few scoring opportunities while consistently giving Miami Dade a chance to win. Her ability to command the strike zone, work deep into games, and deliver in high-pressure situations made her one of the top pitchers in the NJCAA.
Now, Handa will continue her collegiate career at St. Thomas University, where her experience, durability, and competitive mindset will strengthen the Bobcats' pitching staff. With a proven track record of success and the ability to perform in the biggest moments, she is well-positioned to make an immediate impact at the NAIA level.
