Mito Cleared for Takeoff
After one of the most decorated careers in Miami Dade softball history, Caroline Mito is taking the next step in her collegiate career at Embry-Riddle University. A two-time Conference Player of the Year, Mito leaves the Sharks having established herself as one of the premier players in the NJCAA and one of the most accomplished student-athletes to don the blue and white.
Over two remarkable seasons, Mito put together one of the most dominant offensive careers in program history. She finished with a .496 career batting average, totaling 176 hits, 114 runs scored, 95 RBIs, 80 stolen bases, and 15 home runs while posting a .555 on-base percentage and .772 slugging percentage across 105 games. Her rare combination of power, speed, and consistency made her a constant threat every time she stepped into the batter's box.
Mito saved her best for last during the 2025-26 campaign, batting an incredible .536 with 98 hits, 68 runs, 55 RBIs, 39 stolen bases, and a .587 on-base percentage. Her dominance at the plate, paired with her leadership and relentless competitiveness, helped drive the Sharks' success throughout the season while further cementing her legacy as one of the program's all-time greats.
Now, Mito heads to Embry-Riddle, where she'll bring an elite bat, game-changing speed, and championship-caliber experience to the Eagles. As she begins the next chapter of her softball career, she leaves Miami Dade with a legacy defined by excellence, consistency, and a trophy case full of accolades that few players in program history can match.
