Five Sharks Earn All-Southern Conference
The Lady Sharks had five incredible players named to the All-Southern Conference teams this year.
Lady Sharks' first honoree was Lianyi Leblach, named Player of the Week in December and one of two Lady Sharks on the First Team All-Southern Conference. On four occasions, Leblach scored over 20 points; while averaging 10.8 points and 8.6 rebounds per game.
The second player who was named First-team All-Southern Conference was sophomore Jaya Nelson. Nelson scored over 20 points in seven games, with her season high of 33 points against Hillsborough Community College. Nelson averaged 16.1 points, 3.3 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 2.46 steals, and shot 40.5% from the three-point line.
Freshman Genesis Alarcon was one of three players named Second Team All-Conference. Alarcon averaged 4.1 points per game, with an average of 8.3 rebounds, 2.9 assists, and 1.5 steals.
Sophomore Aichatou Camara was the second player named Second Team All-Conference. Camara averaged 7.5 Ppg, 4.8 RPG, 1.0 assists, and shot 39.5% from the three-point line.
Freshman Iva Cholakoska was the third player Second Team All-Conference for the Lady Sharks. During the season, Cholakoska had six games where she scored over 20 points. Cholakoska averages 10.6 points per game, 1.8 rebounds, 1.0 assists, and shot 33.1% for the three-point line.
