Miami Dade Women's Basketball Secures Four All-Conference Selections
The Miami Dade College women's basketball team capped off an impressive season by earning four All-Conference selections, a testament to the team's outstanding performance and individual excellence. Three Sharks—Clearia Peterson, Shameir Quimby, and Kiara Harris—earned spots on the prestigious First Team, while Jazmyne Bynum secured a well-deserved place on the Second Team.
First Team All-Conference Selections:
Clearia Peterson was a dominant force throughout the season, averaging a stellar 18.3 points per game while shooting an efficient 49.1% from the field. Her presence on the boards was equally impactful, as she pulled down 11.9 rebounds per contest. Peterson's all-around ability made her an irreplaceable asset for the Sharks, contributing both offensively and defensively.
Shameir Quimby showcased her scoring prowess, leading the team with 19.1 points per game on 48.7% shooting. Her versatility was further displayed in her ability to facilitate, dishing out 4.3 assists per game while also securing 8.0 rebounds per contest. Quimby's consistent performances played a crucial role in Miami Dade's success.
Kiara Harris was a sharpshooter for the Sharks, knocking down 37.9% of her three-point attempts while averaging 15.1 points per game. She also demonstrated her playmaking ability with 4.0 assists per contest, proving to be a reliable floor leader. Harris's efficiency at the free-throw line (77.0%) provided a clutch factor that the team could depend on in tight games.
Second Team All-Conference Selection:
Jazmyne Bynum rounded out Miami Dade's All-Conference honorees with a strong campaign, averaging 14.7 points per game. A capable perimeter shooter, Bynum hit 31.5% of her three-pointers and contributed 2.8 rebounds and 2.8 assists per contest. Her scoring ability and court awareness made her a key contributor throughout the season.
