NJCAA 2022 National Runner-Up

Miami Dade College Volleyball traveled to West Plains, Missouri, to participate in the 2022 NJCAA DI Volleyball Championship Tournament on November 17-18,2022. This would have made the seventh time consistently that the MDC Volleyball Team made it to the National Tournament.

On November 17, Lady Sharks played Seward County Community College and Salt Lake Community College. The Lady Sharks defeated eleventh-seeded Seward County in three sets for the first match and advanced to the quarterfinals. In the quarterfinals, the Lady Sharks defeated third-seeded Salt Lake in four sets and moved to the semifinals. On November 18, the Lady Sharks played in the semifinal against the second-seed Indian Hills Community College. The Lady Sharks were able to defeat No. 2 Indian Hills in three sets and move to the National Championship Final. On November 19, the Lady Sharks played in the NJCAA National Championship game against Florida Southwestern State College. Unfortunately, the Lady Sharks were defeated by No. 1 in the Nation Florida Southwestern in four sets and placed second in the NJCAA National Tournament.

During the tournament, Ana Tevdoradze, a Freshman Outside Hitter, and Romina Cornelio Sophomore Outside Hitter, were named All-Tournament Team due to their incredible performance.
