The Miami Dade Sharks delivered a commanding performance on the road, sweeping Eastern Florida State College in straight sets to notch its fifth conference win of the season.
The Sharks hit an impressive .296 as a team, highlighted by a blistering .429 clip in the third set, showing control throughout the match. Sophomore standout Luyeisy Marquez-Moreno led the way offensively, registering 11 kills on a .375 hitting percentage, while adding eight digs and two block assists for a team-high 12 points.
Setter Eleonora Gicheva orchestrated the attack, dishing out 25 assists and adding five service aces, three block assists, and five digs to cap an all-around performance. Middle blocker Maria Fernanda de Lima Varela contributed six kills, four block assists, and 10 total points, while Azra Arslanoğlu chipped in six kills and solid defensive play at the net.
Defensively, the Sharks held Eastern Florida to a .098 hitting percentage, forcing 26 attack errors and controlling the tempo behind strong blocking and disciplined coverage. Libero Katianna Mejía Betancur anchored the back row with six digs and steady serve receive, keeping Eastern Florida off balance from the start.
