Darius Williams Named NJCAA Region 8 and Division 1 Men's Basketball Player of the Week

On Tuesday, January 19, 2016 MDC's Men's Basketball freshman guard Darius Williams was named the NJCAA Region 8 Men's Basketball Player of the Week after a stellar performance in two back-to-back games. On Tuesday, January 12, 2016 Williams helped lead the Sharks to a 77-65 win over Palm Beach State College who was ranked sixth in the nation at the time. Williams finished the game with thirty-one points on 11-of-19 shooting from the field and 4-of-8 three pointers. Four days later the Sharks defeated ASA College 84-68, Mr. Williams finished that game with thirty-five points. In two games Darius Williams averaged 33.0 points, 2.5 assists, 0.5 steals, and 0.5 blocks. Earlier today Williams received another accolade "NJCAA Division 1 Men's Basketball Player of the Week".
