Sharks Dominate Palm Beach State in 10–0 Shutout
Miami Dade delivered a complete performance on the diamond, shutting out Palm Beach State College 10–0 behind timely offense and dominant pitching.
The Sharks wasted no time getting on the board in the first inning. Denixon Suarez reached and eventually came around to score on an RBI single by Adrian Areizaga, before William Polanco crossed home on a sacrifice fly from Jendy Gonzalez to make it 2–0 early.
From there, Miami Dade stayed patient at the plate and broke the game wide open in the fourth. After Leamsi Montañez scored on a hit-by-pitch, Polanco ripped a two-run double to right field, plating Miguel Colmenares and Antonio Fawcett. Sacrifice flies by Areizaga and Willy Mendez capped the five-run frame and pushed the lead to 7–0.
The Sharks added three more runs in the fifth, highlighted by a three-run home run off the bat of Fawcett, scoring Montañez and Colmenares to put the game out of reach.
Offensively, Miami Dade collected 12 hits, led by Montañez who went 3-for-3, while Polanco, Fawcett, and Suarez each turned in multi-hit performances. Fawcett finished with three RBIs, and Polanco drove in two while also scoring twice.
On the mound, Samuel Alonso earned the win with two perfect innings, striking out five and retiring all six batters he faced. Andy Mesa followed with three strong innings of relief, allowing just two hits while striking out two to complete the combined shutout.
Miami Dade's pitching staff faced only 17 batters and held Palm Beach State to two hits, sealing a clean and efficient victory.
The Sharks will now host the 2026 Charlie Greene Invitational starting on Friday, January 30th where they'll play host to five different games amonst themselves, Coastal Alabama- South and Monroe University.
