The Miami Dade College Sharks dropped a tight 2–1 decision to Monroe Community College on Saturday, as the Sharks could not overcome a pair of goals from the undefeated Tribunes.
Monroe struck first in the 31st minute when Caleb Hughes broke through the defense and finished unassisted to put the visitors ahead 1–0. The Sharks answered in the second half as Jeremy Levivier delivered the equalizer in the 55th minute, capitalizing on a loose ball in the box to bring Miami Dade level at 1–1. However, Monroe wasted little time responding. Just 47 seconds later, Gabriele Sellati scored the eventual game-winner with an unassisted strike, regaining the lead at 2–1.
Miami Dade generated nine total shots with three on target, led by Levivier's goal and contributions from Agustin Sinelli and Josemy Vigil, who each registered shots on goal. Defensively, goalkeeper Samuel Cavo recorded four saves across 90 minutes while facing 12 shots. Despite earning six corner kicks and putting Monroe under pressure late, the Sharks could not find a second equalizer.
The loss moves Miami Dade to 2-6-2 on the season, while Monroe improves to 6-0. The Sharks will look to regroup and bounce back in their next matchup as they continue to push through a challenging stretch of the schedule.
