Sharks Defeat Bryant & Stratton College
The Miami Dade Sharks used a balanced offensive attack and strong interior play to secure a 91–81 victory over Bryant & Stratton College (VA) on Saturday.
The Sharks came out aggressive, scoring 30 points in the opening quarter to establish early control. Meredith Venner set the tone inside, while Miami Dade moved the ball effectively and converted scoring opportunities to take a 30–24 lead after one.
Miami Dade extended the margin in the second quarter, outscoring Bryant & Stratton 26–20 to carry a 56–44 advantage into halftime. The Sharks continued to attack the paint and knock down perimeter shots, limiting the Bobcats' momentum despite a strong shooting effort from Hailey Harris.
The Sharks maintained control in the third quarter, holding Bryant & Stratton to 13 points while adding 18 of their own. Miami Dade's defense tightened up, and the offense continued to flow through Venner and Jazmyne Bynum, keeping the lead in double figures heading into the final period.
Bryant & Stratton made a late push in the fourth quarter, scoring 24 points, but Miami Dade answered with timely baskets and free throws to close out the win.
Venner led all scorers with a dominant 31-point performance, adding 10 rebounds and five assists for a double-double night. Riana Callihan followed with 16 points and eight rebounds, while Bynum chipped in 13 points and eight assists. Azjannie Culberth provided a strong lift off the bench with 12 points and 12 rebounds, and Constanza Aravena added 10 points.
Miami Dade finished the game shooting 50 percent from the field and totaled 23 assists on 33 made baskets, showcasing its depth and offensive efficiency in the home victory.
