Bynum Drops 33 as Sharks Rally Past FSW
Fort Myers, FL - The Miami Dade Sharks flipped the script in the second half and powered past Florida SouthWestern State College, 92–85, behind a dominant offensive performance and relentless work on the glass.
After trailing 27–20 at the end of the first quarter, the Sharks steadied themselves in the second and went into halftime down just 45–39. The turning point came in the third quarter, where MDC exploded for 29 points while holding FSW to 18, swinging momentum for good. Miami Dade followed with a composed 24-point fourth quarter to close out the seven-point victory.
Jazmyne Bynum delivered a statement performance, pouring in 33 points on 13-of-30 shooting while going a perfect 6-for-6 from the free-throw line. She added five rebounds, three assists, and three steals in a full 40-minute effort.
Meredith Venner dominated inside, finishing with 23 points and a game-high 13 rebounds for a double-double. Venner also added five steals and two blocks, impacting the game on both ends of the floor. Constanza Aravena contributed 14 points and five assists, while Saige McCloud added 11 points and seven rebounds. Azjannie Culberth chipped in nine points and nine boards as the Sharks controlled the rebounding battle, 47–40.
Miami Dade's physical presence was evident all night, hauling in 23 offensive rebounds that created crucial second-chance opportunities. The Sharks also capitalized at the free-throw line, shooting an impressive 17-of-18 (94.4%).
Florida SouthWestern had four players in double figures, led by Chelsea Bishop's 17 points and eight rebounds. Destinie Gordon and Elina Briede each added 15, while Arielle Marc finished with 14. However, FSW committed 20 turnovers, which Miami Dade turned into key scoring runs.
