Miami Dade Sweeps Utah State Eastern Behind Balanced Attack
The Miami Dade College Sharks rolled past Utah State Eastern in straight sets (25–13, 25–18, 25–23) to secure a dominant 3–0 victory. The Sharks combined efficiency on the attack with steady defense to keep the Eagles at bay throughout the match.
Miami Dade opened strong, hitting .483 in the first set behind the power of Angelica Rodriguez (13 kills, 14.5 points) and Azra Arslanoğlu (10 kills, 11.5 points). After cruising to a double-digit win in the opener, the Sharks weathered a tougher challenge in the second and third frames but leaned on their depth to close it out.
Setter Eleonora Gicheva kept the offense flowing with 20 assists, while libero Katianna Mejía Betancur anchored the back row with a team-high 17 digs. Eduarda Fabricio and Paulina Agudelo Marin added six kills apiece, combining for 17.5 points and giving Miami Dade multiple offensive options.
Defensively, the Sharks out-blocked Utah State Eastern 14–6, led by Fabricio and Agudelo at the net. Miami Dade's serving pressure also paid off with five aces, helping control momentum late in the match.
