On Tuesday, January 19, 2016 MDC's Men's Basketball freshman guard Darius Williams was named the NJCAA Region 8 Men's Basketball Player of the Week after a stellar performance in two back-to-back games. On Tuesday, January 12, 2016 Williams helped lead the Sharks to a 77-65 win over Palm Beach State College who was ranked sixth in the nation at the time.

The Miami Dade College Men’s Basketball teams’ 2015-16 season will kick off this Friday, October 30th, 2015. The Sharks will host Rise Academy (PA), tipoff is at 3pm. After leading his players to the 2015 FCSAA State Tournament semifinals, and coming off back-to-back state tournament appearances Head Coach Stephen Cowherd and his coaching staff are looking to start this season on a high note.
