Despite a strong second-half push, Miami Dade couldn't complete the comeback against Eastern Florida State College, falling 2–1 on Tuesday evening.
The Titans capitalized on an early offensive surge, scoring twice within the first six minutes of play. Aoife Farral opened the scoring at the 2:58 mark off an assist from Phoebe Wilson, followed by a goal from Avery Bracher less than three minutes later, assisted by Akelia Johnson.
The Sharks responded just before halftime when Tiana Griego found the back of the net in the 43rd minute to cut the deficit to 2–1. From there, Miami Dade dominated possession and outshot Eastern Florida 15–6, including nine shots in the second half, but couldn't find the equalizer.
Goalkeeper Ashley Fonseca tallied two saves in 90 minutes, while Kyara Ormazabal, Betzael Contreras, and Naya Megnin each recorded quality scoring chances. The match grew increasingly physical, with Miami Dade receiving three yellow cards in the second half.
They'll look to rebound in their next matchup as they head up to Maryland to take on Hagerstown Community College before taking on St. Thomas University to close out the regular season.
