Miami Dade Rallies to Take Down Snow College, 3–1
The Miami Dade Sharks battled back from a slow start to defeat Snow College in four sets (18–25, 25–22, 25–14, 25–21) on Saturday. After dropping the opening frame, the Sharks tightened up defensively and found their rhythm on offense to close out the Badgers and earn the 3–1 victory.
Miami Dade leaned on its balanced attack, led by Luyeisy Marquez-Moreno, who tallied 13 kills and 10 digs for 15 points. Maria Fernanda de Lima Varela added a highly efficient performance with 10 kills on .667 hitting, while Angelica Rodriguez chipped in 10 kills and 11.5 points.
Setter Eleonora Gicheva directed the offense with 22 assists and five kills of her own, while libero Katianna Mejía Betancur led the defense with eight digs. Antonia Meiser also stepped up with 10 digs and two service aces, helping Miami Dade control momentum in the backcourt.
The turning point came in the third set, where Miami Dade dominated 25–14 behind sharp passing and aggressive serving, totaling five aces in the set. The Sharks closed out the fourth set behind steady play at the net, where Eduarda Fabricio and Paulina Agudelo Marin combined for multiple blocks to stall Snow's late push.
Snow College was led by Aleah McDaniel (9 kills, 10.5 points) and Chloee Leslie (8 kills).
With the victory, Miami Dade closes out their non conference schedule and turn their heads to Daytona State College whom they'll face on September 17th.
