Volleyball Sweeps Daytona
The Miami Dade College Sharks continued their dominant run through conference play with a straight-set sweep over Daytona State College on Saturday afternoon.
The Sharks controlled the match from start to finish, hitting an efficient .333 while holding the Falcons to just .193. Miami Dade's balanced offense was led by Luyeisy Márquez-Moreno, who tallied 9 kills, 3 blocks, and 12.5 points. Angelica Rodriguez followed closely with 8 kills on an impressive .636 hitting percentage, while Paulina Agudelo Marin chipped in 4 kills, 3 blocks, and 7.5 total points.
Setter Eleonora Gicheva orchestrated the attack with precision, dishing out 11 assists, while Antonia Meiser was equally effective from the service line, recording 5 aces and 16 assists. Libero Katianna Mejía Betancur anchored the back row with 14 digs, keeping the Sharks steady on defense.
Miami Dade's dominance was evident across all three sets, outpacing Daytona 12–6 in total blocks and forcing the Falcons into long rallies and attack errors.
With the victory, Miami Dade improves to 18-2 overall and 7-1 in conference play, officially clinching their spot in the FCSAA tournament in Fort Myers.
